Why Birth Outside the Hospital?

Birth is a normal function of the human body, and is typically a normal, uncomplicated process for healthy, low risk women.  Making the choice to birth outside the hospital gives you the freedom to make choices for yourself and your baby that may not be available in a hospital setting, such as freedom of movement, waterbirth, and eating and drinking to your comfort.  Due to our low volume, our caring staff is able to cater to each family’s needs on an individual basis.  This results in a personalized, intimate experience, free of unnecessary interventions.

Christina Lopez GreeneYou did a GREAT job Heather, explaining all of this. And yes, we have to listen to our body. I am so happy you are making these videos. Women need these videos to help with fear and the unknowns of birth. 🙂

Amanda HorowitzWatching this video makes me wonder how both my boys were born with 2 pushing contractions. After 10'ish hours of labor, sack ruptured and 2 contractions later, baby was born. I did not have the push urge until my water broke. Once it did break, the pushing urge took over!

We had such a wonderful birth experience thanks to these incredible ladies. I always felt at home and encouraged at all of my appointments. Our sweet baby Julie was beautifully born and I got my vbac!

Very encouraging and positive midwives and staff! I’m now 3 months postpartum and I couldn’t have asked for better prenatal care, birth, and postnatal care! I was very in tune with my body and baby because of the words of wisdom given to me by these beautiful women!

I cannot speak highly enough of Heather Hilton. I found in her not only a superb midwife for my first child, but an excellent friend for life as well. She is extremely knowledgeable about childbirth and as kind as they come.

My husband and I toured CTBC and absolutely fell in love pretty much immediately after walking in the door!! We talked to Heather and got to know her. She answered all my husband’s questions and made him feel 100% comfortable with an out of hospital birth! Now he’s finally on the bandwagon with me!

This pregnancy has been so enjoyable, and I attribute much of that to your excellent care. Thank you for being so available at my every whim, for spending such quality time with us at our prenatals, for inviting us to Hypnobirthing class, and in general–always going above and beyond.

I can’t say enough about Heather. She cared and loved our family throughout my pregnancy and for that we are so thankful. Professional, kind, compassionate, uplifting and supportive of our birth choices. We had a beautiful home birth with our 4th and I’m so thankful Heather was our care provider.

I know that we’ve made a friend for life.  She will be the midwife to all of my future children.
