The Birth of Sol

January 12, 2023

On Friday, January 6, 2023, I woke up to mild contractions at around 12:30am. Hubby heard me and suggested us head out to the birth center, but I quickly told him not to worry and that I would wait it out. So he could be rested for the drive and take the girls to school in the morning. We dropped them off and told them that they will soon meet thier new sibling. It was 8am and we decided to head to Georgetown to be close to the birth center. We arrived at about 9:45am and were received by Salli, Ashley and Katie. They checked me and baby, I was dilated to a 8 and 80% effaced. Things were moving quickly or so we thought. A few hours passed and my contractions were not as consistent, so we walked some and then grabbed lunch around 1:30 pm. When we returned Ashley mentioned giving me cotton root bark drops to help me have more consistent contractions. Oh and it did... after a few drops contractions were about every 4-5 minutes. When it was finally time I had 2 back to back contractions, 2 pushes and baby was born at 6:23 PM. Our daughters were called into the room to greet baby brother/sister. Like our last 2 pregnancies the gender was a surprise and we all wanted to find out at the same time. To our surprise it's a boy! His sisters were excited and speechless!  We then sent out our daughters to deliver the news to our family who was in waiting area. They were overjoyed. Overall, our experience with the CTBC staff has been nothing short of a wonderful experience from the delivery of our first born in 2016 to now. These ladies are truly amazing and care for each momma and baby that walk into their center. We can't thank them enough for this amazing experience.
