Why Birth Outside the Hospital?

Birth is a normal function of the human body, and is typically a normal, uncomplicated process for healthy, low risk women.  Making the choice to birth outside the hospital gives you the freedom to make choices for yourself and your baby that may not be available in a hospital setting, such as freedom of movement, waterbirth, and eating and drinking to your comfort.  Due to our low volume, our caring staff is able to cater to each family’s needs on an individual basis.  This results in a personalized, intimate experience, free of unnecessary interventions.

Hi All, Introducing us. I work for the EarWell Center of Excellence and Dr. Steve Byrd.. Our Austin location wants to say Hello. We see newborn babies that are born with ear deformities. I think I have met many of the midwives on here via our Zooms. These deformities must be diagnosed in the first 14 days of life to be non surgical. If anyone would like to learn more just let me know. I am happy to email our Ear Chart to anyone on here. Just leave your email address and I will send it. I am also very open to hopping on a quick zoom to show you the different deformities as well. It is all about education and timing. Glad to be a part of the group. I attached a before and after of a baby born with a deformity for anyone's reading pleasure. This is not something we sell FYI- it is a treatment for newborns. Update on Covid-19 mandate:

The city of Georgetown has mandated the use of masks (people over 10 years old) in any business where a 6 foot distance cannot be maintained. While we strive to maintain social distancing in many ways at CTBC, we are unable to do so in a prenatal appointment. Please understand that your midwife must, by city mandate, wear a mask during your prenatal appointment and we must ask you to do the same. Failure on our part to do so may result in a $1000 fine from the city.

If you are concerned about wearing a mask or your midwife wearing a mask, please call the birth center at 512.763.7569 or contact your midwife to explore other options.

Hey Ya’ll. I’ve asked this before on here but it’s been so long I’ve forgotten the names(I really should write these things down.) What pediatrian is it that supports anti-vac parents here in the area? I’m fed up with Lone Star. ARC is great accept for the fact they wont see your kid if they are vaccinating. So sad. ... We had such a wonderful birth experience thanks to these incredible ladies. I always felt at home and encouraged at all of my appointments. Our sweet baby Julie was beautifully born and I got my vbac!

Very encouraging and positive midwives and staff! I’m now 3 months postpartum and I couldn’t have asked for better prenatal care, birth, and postnatal care! I was very in tune with my body and baby because of the words of wisdom given to me by these beautiful women!

I cannot speak highly enough of Heather Hilton. I found in her not only a superb midwife for my first child, but an excellent friend for life as well. She is extremely knowledgeable about childbirth and as kind as they come.

My husband and I toured CTBC and absolutely fell in love pretty much immediately after walking in the door!! We talked to Heather and got to know her. She answered all my husband’s questions and made him feel 100% comfortable with an out of hospital birth! Now he’s finally on the bandwagon with me!

This pregnancy has been so enjoyable, and I attribute much of that to your excellent care. Thank you for being so available at my every whim, for spending such quality time with us at our prenatals, for inviting us to Hypnobirthing class, and in general–always going above and beyond.

I can’t say enough about Heather. She cared and loved our family throughout my pregnancy and for that we are so thankful. Professional, kind, compassionate, uplifting and supportive of our birth choices. We had a beautiful home birth with our 4th and I’m so thankful Heather was our care provider.

I know that we’ve made a friend for life.  She will be the midwife to all of my future children.
